Hugging the coast
We had a few hours sailing beautifully yesterday with flat,
calm seas – just the way sailing should be ! Just before dusk we could see the fishing fleets heading out
from port, hundreds of them. So we have hugged the Indian coast all night,
following the 10 metre contour line which seems to stay inland of most of the
fishing activity. Hopefully we can also take advantage of the afternoon sea
breezes close to shore. We are in company with Miss Tippy, Sol Maria, Island Kia and
Jackamy, who are leader of the pack as they are the slowest boat, and we have all
stayed in close formation all night. The time is now 6.45am and it is still getting light, I have
been on watch since 5.00am and I am now off to get some breakfast – my tummy
is rumbling ! |
