Monday, we had fantastic sailing in glorious sunshine with enough breeze to push us along gently for the 10 hr trip to Figueiro de Foz.

We still had our sea legs and we happily sailed the day away in the cockpit listening to Martin’s playlist on the outside speakers – heaven !

It is the first time I can say that I was rather disappointed to be arriving at our destination.

That evening we enjoyed a drink aboard Sally and Roys’ boat (our friends from Hythe again) and had a good nights sleep uninterrupted by the fog siren.

Today we have explored the town, a lovely covered in market and huge wide beaches with miles of board walk leading down to the sea.

Photos to follow soon.

We are currently sailing just behind rally Portugal, who are a group of 14 boats sailing along the coast to Lagos, and we would rather avoid being in the same harbour as them, since they take up all the spaces. They have also been rather unkind to our friends Sally & Roy, accusing them of tagging along with the rally just because they keep bumping into them at each port.

So we are leaving tomorrow to head for Cascais 107 miles, as we know the rally doesn’t stop there !

It is reported to be a very pretty town close to Lisbon so lot’s of exploring !

Start time is 5.00am so that we arrive in daylight – doh !
