Sorry for the lack of diary entries, so far to go and so much to see time just whizzes by!

Well Monday was spent in La Trinitee on the beach, a lovely coastal walk to get there and a great beach bar with moules and frittes and plenty of glaces for Katie.

Tues morning Franc managed to fix the chart plotter and we left Trinitee on route to Benodet, 65 miles away. We arrived late afternoon and met up with Ben & Rosie from yacht ‘Finally’ for dinner ashore, a delightful place.

Tom tracked down the bread delivery man to stock up with croissants and baguettes before we left at 9.00am on route to L’Aberwach.

Some tricky navigation through the Reiz and the Chenal de Four with a bit of a hiccup when the motor spluttered as we entered the narrow channel with no wind and no sails up ! We think we must have caught up some seaweed which seems to have released itself now.

Another good dinner ashore before departing at 6.30am for Guernsey – it’s all go !

Drizzle all morning so we watched a DVD and read our books, then the sun came out so a bit of sunbathing and another exercise workout on deck for me – the rest of the crew don’t participate and try to ignore me.

We arrived in Guernsey at 8.30pm and Katie was met ashore by Joe and Mat.

Friday has been lovely, some time to shop and restock and buy Katie a birthday cake for tomorrow.

However, tides dictate and it is now midnight on Fri and we are just going through the Alderney Race at 11.5 knots with the tide. We will soon set course for the Needles and hope to be rounding there at around 10.00am on Sat.

We have preses for Katie – and we hope that will give her some distraction from her the travel sickness. The good news is that we will be home during the afternoon so she can spend some of her birthday on dry land and we are looking forward to seeing Adam & Kirsty Sat evening for dinner.

Back to my watch !
