Mykonos Monday 16th July

We made the right decision to return to Ornos Bay in Mykanos as the following four days saw 30-40 knots of wind blowing through the anchorage.

It was so bouncy that Katie and Charlie slept in the main saloon where there was less movement and it was a lot quieter.

We made use of our confinement to the bay by hiring sun beds on the beach, which didn’t move and from where we could keep an eye on Blue Magic in case she dragged anchor and escaped.

Katie and Charlie did the only sensible thing considering the weather and booked a course of kite surfing lessons !

It was pretty tough going with big surfing waves and up to 40 knots of wind, even the instructor said they shouldn’t have been out in those conditions and he was surprised at how quickly they picked it up, soon mastering the techniques !

Back on Blue Magic it was so windy that the buoys marking the swimming area were being blown out to sea – so Mark and Charlie to the rescue, they picked up the buoys in the dinghy and dragged the concrete blocks, to which they were tied, back to the beach.

Dinner out in Ornos Bay and relaxing in Mykonos Town at our favourite coffee shop with my new friend.

All too quickly the last day with Katie and Charlie arrived, however, to our spirits up, Paul and Jan flew in to share their holidays with us, perfect timing !

We all spent one evening together at a Thai restaurant where we watched the sunset and had delicious Thai food.
