Kite Surfing

Position 37:25.25N 025:19.38E We made the right decision to return to It was so bouncy that Katie and Charlie slept in the main
saloon where there was less movement and it was a lot quieter. We made use of our confinement to the bay by hiring sun beds
on the beach, which didn’t move and from where we could keep an eye on Blue
Magic in case she dragged anchor and escaped. Katie and Charlie did the only sensible thing considering
the weather and booked a course of kite surfing lessons !
It was pretty tough going with big surfing waves and up to
40 knots of wind, even the instructor said they shouldn’t have been out
in those conditions and he was surprised at how quickly they picked it up, soon
mastering the techniques !
Back on Blue Magic it was so windy that the buoys marking
the swimming area were being blown out to sea – so Mark and Charlie to
the rescue, they picked up the buoys in the dinghy and dragged the concrete
blocks, to which they were tied, back to the beach. Dinner out in
All too quickly the last day with Katie and Charlie arrived,
however, to our spirits up, Paul and Jan flew in to share their holidays with
us, perfect timing ! We all spent one evening together at a Thai restaurant where
we watched the sunset and had delicious Thai food. |
