Ping Pong in Patong !

Ok, ok, it seems Jackamy have let the cat out of the bag and we have received several requests to hear more about the New Year’s Eve ping pong show….

First of all I have to say that it was all Paul’s idea as he hasn’t seen a ping pong show before and so, after dinner, we took up the offer of one of the many touts on the street who guided us inside to see a show.

To give you the scenario, there is a large stage in the centre of the room that you can sit up to like a bar and there are numerous tables with bar stools around the room, all facing towards the stage. The stage has four poles and at one end there is a shower cubicle with clear glass.

Four Thai girls, looking rather bored, come onto the stage wearing baby doll nighties that they proceed to take off while making a few moves to the loud music.

This takes all of a few minutes and then another group repeat the sequence, as soon as the clothes are off they quickly leave the stage and we are wondering what significance the ‘ping pong’ has ?

We were soon to find out.

Next to appear was a rather elderly, overweight Thai lady who looked as if she had a hard life to say the least.

She thumped onto the stage and held out an empty goldfish bowl for everyone to see, she then proceeded to fill the bowl with lots of live goldfish swimming in water that she retrieved from her you know what !

Twice more she left the stage and returned to retrieve a live bird and then a live mouse !

The ping pong balls and razor blades were to follow and even a banana which she fired out to the audience.

When she began to pull out miles of ribbon from the same place it made me wonder if this was the answer to launching the cruising chute without getting the lines tangled up !

Another session with the younger girls sees them painting their bodies before washing it all off in the shower on stage.

This may all sound very exciting but it is actually pretty dismal and we had vowed never to do a show again after our first experience with Malc & Sandie in Bankok.

So now it is definitely never again !

Don’t get me wrong, you must do this once – all part of life’s rich tapestry – but please don’t try this at home !
