We paid our dues, picked up our very pleasant pilot, ‘Muneer’ and left Port Suez at 10.00am on route to Ismalia, the half way point through the Suez Canal.

All crew present and correct …..

We had a very good day, a little hot but lots to see……

Cargo ships carrying live cattle.

Container ships well loaded and local fishing boats dodging the ships.

A cargo ship carrying yachts, it reminded us that Blue Magic has done this trip before on a cargo ship like this !

Tankers coming through an adjacent channel look as if they are moving through the desert.

Lots of people waved at us from the shore and these youngsters shouted and waved then jumped into the water.

The road adjacent to the canal was busy with army trucks.

At this part of the canal you can clearly see the Sinai desert on one side and the lush green of Egypt on the other.

We arrived at Ismalia at 5pm on Wednesday 3rd April.
