Rally Day 2 and Blue Magic Escapes !

Shortly after we ventured ashore last night and in the cover of darkness a strange thing happened.

Left to her own devices, Blue Magic began to pull up her anchor chain and, once free, she set about wandering around the anchorage much to the dismay of nearby yachts.

Luckily Andy from ‘Kerching’ was on deck, witnessed the escape attempt and took action to head up a recovery team.

The guys rounded up the only dinghy in the water from yacht ‘Jigsaw’ , they all came on board, started the engine and re anchored using our kedge anchor and a length of line bought over from yacht Suleika.

When we came back to our dinghy around 9.30pm there was a message, kept in place under several rocks, to inform us of the evenings exploits.

We would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who helped last night - what rally spirit and only Day 2 !

Since we have been free sailing for the last 12 months we were very relieved that Blue Magic’s escape attempt happened whilst we were in the company of a rally.

Maybe she was just being sociable and getting to know her fellow ralliers ?

THANK YOU again everyone who helped.

PS We can highly recommend the food at Paradise Café, we tried all sorts of local delicacies including a very hot (spicy) raw meat which you ate wrapped in lettuce leaves with parsley, aubergine stuffed with meat balls on skewers, casserole, a delicious local bread topped with cheese and something that looked like sponge cake but tasted like Cornish pasty !
