Finikas Bay, Syros
Position 37:23.72N 24:52.59E 1st July 2012 It is still very windy and so today we motored just 8 miles
around the NW tip of Syros to a large, pretty bay with Finikas on the West side
and Posidonia on the East side. We anchored just off the harbour wall and enjoyed a couple
of nights here. We had a lovely walk along the coast where there are several
small, sandy beaches and we found a butcher, baker and supermarket where we
bought ingredients for a meal on board. We also found a local Gyros café, you can’t visit Sliced Pork, salad, tzatziki and chips all wrapped up in a
pita. Tues 3rd July 2012 The wind finally decreased to 15-25 knots and we had another
good sail back to Mykonos and into A busy little bay where BIG yachts moor in a row either side
of the entrance with lines ashore to the rocks. We had fun checking out owners and charter prices using the
Ipad, a cool £300,000 per week for 10 guests on the 120 ft Perini sailing
yacht. Lovely restaurants and great provisions ashore in this bay
and booming music being carried out on the wind ! Wed 4th July 2012 Time to say good bye to Bev & Martin – too soon
– thanks for a great week Guys, lovely to spend our hols together again. |
