Hi Everyone

First of all we are still in Povoa de Varzim despite our automatic GPS position update going into secret spy mode.

We have taken the metro into Porto to prepare ourselves as tour guides for when Bev & Martin join us for a weekend soon.

The open top bus tour was interesting, but not as interesting as the port caves where we were shown around ‘Crofts’ and given lots of free samples !

As you can see from the sign post, the whole area is dedicated to all the port houses.

There are some amazing bridges all along the river and lots of wooden ‘junk’ boats offering trips up the river to see them all.

Tourists at large !

It has been very windy here the last few days and the locals are busy erecting structures all along the beaches to give protection, so we are presuming that the wind is a feature of this area.

Last night we joined 18 other ‘sailors’ for a meal out at a local family run restaurant, followed by a few nightcaps at the yacht club.

There are a lot of UK boats that have wintered here, or arrived planning a few days stay and are still here years later !

They are very well organised with shopping trips, meals out and we have been invited to a barbeque on Sunday.
