We arrived in Portugal yesterday afternoon in thick fog, we didn’t see the harbour wall or the breakwater and we wouldn’t have attempted the entrance without our radar and AIS to help us, the marvel of modern technology.

Hence no photos of the harbour.

We were very surprised to see ‘Kittiwake’, a Westerly 49, owned by Tim, one of our colleagues on the Ship’s Medical Course, moored a few boats away from us.

The last time we met up with Tim and his crew member, John, was in Cowes during the week prior to our departure when we chatted about our plans.

A few drinks were shared along with stories of our trips and mishaps along the way.

Tim and John left this morning to keep up with their schedule to arrive in Gibraltar by next weekend so that Tim can fly to Greece for a weeks programmed work.

We set off ashore on our bikes and found the market and old town, miles of sandy beaches, the casino and the Yacht club along with the metro station with trains to Porto.

This afternoon the sun shone and we relaxed and sun bathed on deck.

Hope you all have a good weekend !
