Wed 20th May

Today we took in all the sights of Bayonna, we climbed the medieval walls of the Parador Conde do Gondomar with some great views of the city and marina and we visited the ‘Pinta’, Christopher Columbus’ boat which is moored in the harbour.

We also climbed the hill to see the huge statue of Virgen de Roca which overlooks the Harbour approach

There is something for everyone here - sandy beaches, history, walking and the charming old town which is tucked away behind the waterfront.

Very uncommercialised – we couldn’t even find anywhere for an ice cream after our exhausting climbs !

Tommorrow …Portugal here we come !
