Night two at sea and we are having a sleigh ride across the Bay of Bangal towards Sri Lanka with 15 -20 knots of following wind and averaging 7-8 knots of boat speed with the twistle rig flying.

It was a bit squally the first night with black clouds and close lightening and thunder, I had lots of wind shifts and sail changes on my watch whilst Mark had high winds and heavy rain on his !

So far two glorious sunny sailing days and tonight the stars are twinkling at us although it is very dark and moonless.

Our ETA in Galle is currently two days earlier than we had predicted – great news except that we will arrive at a weekend so check in may be at premium overtime rates !

However we still have 830 miles to run and the forecast did say light winds ….
