Monday 6th December

We motored into the bay at Koh Lipe but it was very noisy with lots of long tail boats day tripping with tourists.

Brian on Miss Tippy called us to say that they were in a very quiet anchorage just around the corner so we joined them at a lovely spot just off Koh Rawi.

That afternoon we took the dinghies to the beach and trekked through the forest, climbing big boulders through the stream and up to the waterfall.

When we returned to the beach the tide had gone out and so we had to carry the dinghies out a long way across the sand and mud before we could float them off.

Just as well we were with the ‘fit family’ Tippies.

In the evening Jackamy and Sol Maria joined us in the anchorage and we all descended onto Miss Tippy for a barbeque, it was great to catch up as we hadn’t seen the others for quite a few days.

Tuesday 7th December

We were all keen to do some diving and Amy had looked up some dive sites on the internet so we motored a mile or two over to Koh Sawang in the morning and dropped anchor.

From there we loaded up the dinghies and went closer to the rocks where a local dive boat had some divers down. We had a lovely dive there, very pretty with lots of sea anemones (my favourites) and a big variety of corals in every shade of purple.

Jack and Freddy stayed with the dinghies as there were no buoys to secure to.

That evening we motored back to our night anchorage and hosted dinner on Blue Magic, we cooked a red Thai curry with the tuna that I caught a few weeks ago.

There were 10 of us – so just about enough to go round and supplemented by lots of chocolate and Sheila’s delicious chocolate coconut ice that she had made earlier.

Wednesday 8th December

We took advantage of the breeze this morning and are currently sailing in company with Miss Tippy, Jackamy and Sol Maria towards Koh Rok Nok which was recently used for the French version of the ‘survivor’ series and another good place for diving.

From the radio net, it seems that a lot of the rally boats are headed to the same place today so we are hoping there is enough room !

One disadvantage of the rally as all the boats converge towards Phuket for the next stop over.
