It is lovely to be anchored and in sight of land again !

We had a fantastic experience visiting the local island yesterday and I have put together a blog with lots of photos which I will upload in a couple or days.

After 11 hours sleep we woke up refreshed and pleased to see Larooba just entering the anchorage. We went over and had coffee with Guy & Simone and their children Hugo & Juliet and spent an enjoyable couple of hours catching up with news and gossip.

Then it was back to more serious ‘stuff ‘ we both donned our new diving gear and went under the boat to give it a good scrub down in the murky waters below.

I am not sure that I signed up for this when purchasing my lovely new dive gear with romantic visions of colourful coral and beautiful fish, Mark says I did !

We are now 55 miles from Nongsa Point, we are going to another island anchorage tomorrow, leaving just 10 miles to cover early on the 18th to arrive on our ETA at Nongsa Point to keep the authorities happy.

Oh – talking of authorities – the latest news is that the crew from Peter pan had a run in with the authorities when trying to refuel in Bali.

The marina were unable to supply fuel as they had run out and so the yacht crew set about driving to the local garage with their jerry cans, little did they know that the local fuel is subsidised and not available to use for our yachts.

They were stopped at the marina, arrested and taken to the Police station where they were informed that the penalty was two years in jail !

To cut a long story short the skipper, Jacob, and a local agent offering help attended the Police station and negotiated the crews release at a cost of 10 million Rupiah,

Just under £1000 !
