Today we took the old, traditional Kuranda scenic train through the rain forest to the village of Kuranda which is famous for it’s arts and crafts and Aboriginal artefacts.

We had a great day out with Carmen & Jaime and one of the highlights was visiting the Koala bears.

I paid the extra fee to hold a Koala – and ‘Sienna’ was very cuddly !

Unfortunately my first experience was holding a rather grumpy ‘Wogan’ who had very sharp claws which made my arm bleed and to top it all he then proceeded to bite me on my other arm, luckily it didn’t pierce the skin but I am a bit bruised.

We also got to see Crocodiles and to feed the wallabies who were much more docile.

We bought a boomerang and an aboriginal print for the house..

…..and kids – you would be proud of us – we also bought more matching hats !!!
