After saying our goodbyes we left Townsville the following morning and set sail to Orpheus Island where we caught up with Jackamy and Bionic for afternoon tea.

The tea didn’t go down too well, Paul wanted beer and Jaime bought over a bottle of red wind and said ‘I don’t like tea’ !

However they did all try the banana cake and chocolate cornflake cakes that I had made during our sail.

The next day we took the Hinchbrook channel, a beautiful 26 mile narrow route between the mainland and Hinchbrook Island and on to Dunk Island where we dropped anchor.

We went ashore in the dinghy and took a walk along the beach to see the pretty little resort and then we picked up Paul & Derry to go aboard Bionic for happy hour before settling down for the night.

An early start this morning (well 7am is early to us retirees) and we are on route to Cairns, a 78 mile trip.

We are hoping to arrive before dark to go into the marina and we are looking forward to spending a few days exploring Cairns.
