Whitsunday Islands and onwards to
Townsville.
We anchored at upstart bay for a night and the next night we
anchored at Horse shoe Bay, Magnetic
Island where we went
ashore and found a delightful little restaurant on the beach front with tables
in the garden and fairy lights in the trees.
The next morning we motored 11 miles into Townsville marina
and had a lazy afternoon walking along the promenade and then sitting on the grassy
cliff above the beach reading, dozing and sunbathing.
In the evening we discovered Palmer Street, a bustling street full of
restaurants with tables on the pavement, where we had dinner.
And then it was Friday 10th September, time to
say goodbye to our visitors.
Julie & Kathy were very industrious on their final
morning, cleaning their cabins and doing all the laundry whilst Rob helped Mark
to clean the decks, mark off the anchor chain and complete some other
maintenance jobs – what stars !
After a nice lunch on the waterfront together we said our
goodbyes and waved off the taxi.
Thank you Rob & Julie & Martin & Kathy for a lovely
couple of weeks – we have enjoyed your company and had a great time
exploring Australia
with you all.
