Sunday morning Keith, the commodore of the Yacht Club met us
on the quay to welcome us to Niue and tell us
all about the island.
Keith had also arranged for the Customs staff to come into
work especially to clear us in so that we could come ashore and enjoy the
facilities.
There is no dinghy landing pontoon in Niue
and we had to crane out the dinghy when we arrived ashore – a well timed
and slightly stressful operation !

We had a drink at the yacht club whilst Keith arranged hire
cars for us and we set off in convoy with Jackamy to explore the island.

We had a novel lunch in ‘Washaways’ Café where
you serve your own drinks and the only menu is fish or meat burger
The café was in a lovely setting overlooking the sea and
Mark enjoyed being ‘barman’.

The men contemplate the trip and share sailing stories and
tactics !
