The alarm went off at 5.30am this morning and we clambered out of bed, rolled into the dinghy and went ashore for the hustle and bustle of the Saturday market that starts at 4.00am and finishes at 7.00am.

We picked up Derry en route (too early for Paul & Amy) and wandered around the stalls. We are not sure it was worth the early morning start as many of the stalls are there everyday, although there was lots of fresh fish and a bigger selection of produce.

We found a small café open on the quay, when I say café – they had a couple of broken plastic chairs and a table and one can of coke that we shared whilst we skyped the family. It was lovely to speak to Adam & Katie, Mum & Dad & Sheena & Emily, and we even caught Amalia still awake which was a treat for us.

We were able to turn the laptop around and show them all the views of the harbour.

There was also a colourful cockerel to show Amalia – it must be her idea of heaven here with boat, beaches and chickens (and Grandma & Grandad of course) !
