Ahoy Shipmates !

After a shaky start at 4.30am yesterday morning, when we spent 3/4hr just outside the harbour trying to get a fix on our chartplotters, we finally motored on in calm seas and came through the Raz at slack water as planned and arrived in Benodet just after lunch.

Coming around the Raz de Seine

Benodet is a lovely French holiday town in South Brittany just inside the river Odet.

We are nicely settled in Benodet marina and we even have electric so the washing machine/ tumble dryer has been very busy !

Today we have explored the town on our bikes and we are going to take the dinghy across the river this afternoon to take a walk around Saint Marine.

There is a ferry that goes all the way up the river Odet (4or 5 miles) to Quimper which is a large city, the regional capital of W Brittany, so we are planning to take that trip tomorrow and do some sightseeing.
