Indian River – film set of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2’

We had a lovely trip along the Indian river with Andrew rowing us in his tour boat ‘Seabird’

The swamp blood wood trees had amazing roots twisting out into the river in interesting shapes whilst the green canopy’s

extended over the top of us.

Winston’s Tour

The crews of Blue Magic, Jackamy, Enchantress, Lucy Alice and Fai Tira all climbed aboard the bus for an afternoon of touring,

hiking and jumping into waterfalls with our tour guide ‘Winston’.

 Winston showed us the banana plantations which cover the island.

Bananas are Dominica’s main export, supplying Waitrose,

 Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury.

The island was very tropical and lush, although their were still reminders that

We were staying in Portsmouth !

We drove down a very bumpy off road track where we left the bus to hike for half an hour down to the

 waterfalls at Chaudiere Pool.
