Guadeloupe is a French island just 40 miles South of Antigua and what a contrast…..

The language is French as is the food along with the little gift shops and boutiques.

There is also a nice French ‘young man’ that delivers hot croissants and baguettes to the boat every morning !

Even the customs check in and out was so easy – we did it ourselves online in the local café called ‘The Pelican’

Yesterday we went to the Botanical Gardens with Derry & Paul from ‘Jackamy’, there were brightly coloured parrots that flew onto your arms and head so that you could feed them. We had a very nice three course lunch in the gardens then back to the boat for rum punches to welcome David & Sue who had just arrived in the anchorage.

Today we are off to Les Saintes with the two other rally boats, Jackamy and Enchantress, a trip of just 30 miles so we should arrive early afternoon.
