A rather unsettled night in Mamora Bay with South Westerly winds blowing into the bay – very rare apparently.

All the yachts moored up to the pontoons at St James came out into the bay during the night to anchor as the pontoons were very bouncy.

The surf was breaking over the reefs at the entrance and we had to wait and time our exit to avoid getting knocked around.

It was fine once we were clear of the reefs and we had a gentle sail back to Nelson’s Dockyard where we plan to stay and celebrate New Year.

Alison calmed Mark’s nerves whilst he took the helm and steered us through !
