Countdown has begun !

It is midnight and we are currently sailing along nicely at between 5 and 6 knots – but it is not fast enough and gives us an ETA of Wednesday at midnight !

Kirsty and the children and Sandie are arriving Wednesday afternoon and we want to be in and cleared customs, so that we are allowed ashore, by the time they arrive.

Calculations are being made constantly and should these light winds continue we will be motoring by morning to maintain our speed at between 7 and 8 knots.

It would be such a shame to motor for the last night and day but it looks as if this may be our only solution if we are to meet our schedule…… deadlines, deadlines !

We were, and still are, according to weather forecasts, promised 15 to 20 knots of established trade winds and a favourable current but where are they ?

Winds are consistently 9 to 14 knots and the current is against us as usual !
