As soon as the NE wind died to less than 20kts we set off from Georgetown out through the East Anchorage towards Calabash Bay on the top of Long Island. I was quite concerned on the way through the reefs as the chart did not line up with the radar image I was getting off them – I still haven’t found out on this new E120W how to realign the chart as we had a half mile error. Quite stressful, reasonable wind breaking surf, shallow depths and rocks – not our favourite combination – anyway safely to the anchorage for the night.

At first light we set off motoring into the NE wind and anchored at Conch Creek and took the dinghy in for a recce, watching the rays, Nurse sharks and turtles zooming along below us in the shallows. We did a spot of sunbathing and some walking and then headed to the NW anchorage where we waited out the high winds for 2 days, hooked up with Bob on a 40ft Atlantic catamaran and went walking and exploring, until leaving on Saturday the 200M to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

We even almost got our very own waterspout show
