Finally a great sail, we were up early to make some calls to the UK at 0530, cos we are now 5 hours behind since you changed your clocks. Then up the mast in the Bosun’s Chair as one of the mast track screws was coming loose and jamming the cars, then stow the RIB and weigh anchor – well except the forward anchor controller seemed to not want to work properly – good job we have one in the cockpit.

It was around 0645 when left with a plan to make Montserrat, 75M south and for the first 30M we could lay our course sailing in about 12kts with moderate swell and current against us making 7kts. Well, of course that didn’t last long, the wind veered 30 degrees and we were heading for St Kitts. I checked the charts and we could almost make the tack across to Barbuda, but at 50M it would be nightfall before we arrived, so we opted to sail through The Narrows, between St Kitts and Nevis, (which is not allowed for charter yachts) and anchor in Qualie Bay off Nevis.

Then the plan is to sail south towards Montserrat in the morning before we can make the tack angle across to Antigua some 30M east of us, so two 50M days which is fine.

Piccies of Nevis from our anchorage – It seems a great island with lots to do, our friends Seaduced stayed here 2 weeks, so we will have to come back another season – so many islands and places we haven’t been yet.
