Nicky and David left on the ferry for the airport on Beef Island at 10:00 yesterday, we have had a lot of fun, but it has been hard 730M upwind and against the current, visiting TCIs, DR, PR and BVIs. Suzanne and I discussed the options and in the end decided we were too knackered to do anything. The wind was reasonable for the 180M to Antigua, but I felt we were too tired for a night at sea, so we had an easy day, made a couple of Pina Colada’s using David’s recipe and had a siesta plus.

It was another lumpy night, with a lot of roll, these “bays” are really just a small scallops out of the island with little protection from wind or swell and we had 30kts again. We set off at first light to Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda to try and get out of the wind, and motored with 30kts over the deck at about 4.5kts to keep things comfortable. You know they say there is only 3 types of wind – Too Much, Too Little and the Wrong Direction – that says it all.

Spanish Town was OK, not very Spanish and certainly not a town, it did have a post office and we posted our Bahamas exit papers back to Nassau, but the marina is very smart – we shared a Chicken Roti for elevenses – and then headed back to the boat to look at taking the dinghy down to The Baths
