I had a waypoint in for Puerto Plata and was looking for Ocean World Marina and Adventure when we saw a cluster of masts about 2M west of the town, so called them up on the VHF, all very professional, well marked channel a 12ft controlling depth and a whole team of marineros to help us into the berth.

 

This was a little oasis, on a smaller and far less grand style than the Atlantis in Nassau, but had bars, restaurants a casino and a really modern marina with a fuel dock. We ate out with a “Dinner and Show” ticket and did the “Bravissimo Show” that evening – really good fun, lots of feathers headdresses and skimpy outfits, although Suzanne thought all the guys looked gay – but a fun evening and so different to Luperon, but I think we all preferred real Dom Rep to tourist alley
