We got the cycles out for the first time since leaving Nantucket and as the east coast is so flat we will get some good use out of them. Our neighbour, Ozzie, tells me that when we leave NY through the Verrazano Narrows bridge the hill on our right is the last one – no more and of course none in Florida.

We had a list of places we wanted to see (we met Tomas & Kirstie on the Ferry again) and went back through the Meat Packers District, into Chelsea Market, where Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen & Diane von Furstenbrook, to name a few all have stores. Then it was up onto the High Line for a walk along an old converted rail track with gardens above the street level, then cycling back down through Greenwich village to our ferry.

The only time we stopped was for a great lunch at Moran’s alongside the High Line and twice in the Apple Store on 14th and 9th Ave. Suzanne was definitely on a mission with phrases such as “Wouldn’t you like an I-Pad”, Umm not really, “I’ll buy one for you” Um not really “You could use it for work and they can pay for it” Hmm Yea I don’t think I’ll get that past Accounts “It would be good cos I would like to try one” Hmm maybe “We could get one to share” Aahh - now I see...

So eventually I twigged that Suzanne would like an I-Pad – so I said “Why don’t we go back get a girlie white one with an orange cover and not too much memory (cos it’s just for emails and Facebook)” Hence the second visit and now she is a happy little fluffy bunny, except now she spends more time fiddling with her I-Pad than she does fiddling with me.
