On Thursday morning a couple came over from a German boat anchored next to us, Bert & Marlene on Heimkehr, and said âHi, we know youâ â well it turns out they know and have sailed with Andy & Sue on Spruce and Lorraine and Graham on Catacaos and have all been up to the States. So more new friends, we stayed on board Thursday and caught up on some sleep, food and tidied the boat up.

On Friday after talking to Sandra at the Super Yacht Terminal, then having our Jack Stays shortened by Suzanne & Steve at Ocean Sails we worked out a schedule and Friday night we went to the sailing club with Bert & Marlene for a few Dark & Stormyâs (local Rum drink) and met up with Larry on a Canadian boat. He told us about sailing down to Chile, Patagonia, the Falkland Islands Antarctica, Australia and New Zealand, all of which he seem to have visited several times. He asked us if we could sing, yea right, and said we could go over to his boat as they have a piano on board!! His wife is a concert pianist and off they go singing songs into the Southern Ocean in the freezing cold and they must be mid 70âs.

Then Saturday we arranged to get out the cycles and went off round the island with Bert & Marlene â well a bit more exercise than we thought, we were all knackered, but got some great shots. We stopped at the supermarket on the way and picked up snacks for a picnic and set off to St David's lighthouse and Clearwater Bay â a really great day out, but we all thought we could have done without riding up the hills to the lighthouse
