Had a convoy from Middelburg through the Veerse Meer Lock into Verre, 4.4 miles in total today in the lovely sunshine..  Verre is a wonderful little quaint town all cobble streets and a very posh Yacht club ( the lady behind the bar fancied David and offered to get him some thing to eat…luckily he ran fast in my direction.)

It was quite tropical at times typical David got his kit off and his tan through banana hammocks on, what a delight for all.

The bike got the first trip out this year and we cycled all around Verre, up into the lock area and watched a few more boat pass through. David was taking the below picture and when I turned back to him he’d fallen backwards down 5 steps, luckily not into the lock it self.  Everyone wondered where he’d gone, couldn’t pick him up as we were laughing so much.  Poor thing he’s bruised and scraped his arms and elbows.

We all met for drinks in the yacht club at 6pm then a roast Sunday dinner was served on Suzie Too followed by a home made rhubarb crumble with custard, which was enjoyed by all and Hollie had extra dessert and had 2 of my raspberry jellies, so I will have to make some more.

To finish the evening we walked around the town and had coffees in a local restaurant.  Everyone’s finally chilling out nicely.
