We stopped here to avoid going into Paranagua at night. If we leave tomorrow morning we will get to Paranagua on the flood approaching high tide.
We are in Capri Yacht Club which is at a beautiful river setting. This is out of season so most of the facilities are closed, but we have what we need.
The trip up from Rio Grande offered both too little and a lot of wind. The sea came up for 24 hours, but abated on the way up here. Fairly good if you consider that this is supposed to be one of the challenges going up the Brazilian coast.
Why Paranagua? We hope to be able to go from there by railway to the highlands, and then on to Iguazu falls. Iguazu is known to be one of the largest waterfalls in the world situated at the border between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. When Eleanor Rosevelt saw them before WWII her comment was "poor Niagara". Should be good.
