We are finally in the westerlies. What a relief. The wind is still light, but freshening gradually. We are headed down to the "roaring forties" or close to it. The weather seems quite reasonable, but it should now be a much faster passage. It will be a balancing act between too much and too little.
So far there have been very little bird life - or sea life for that matter. We expect to see more of it further south. We have seen one albatross so far and look forward to seeing many more.
