We have arrived in Gove, a mining site on the western shore of the Gulf of Carpentaria. The trip across from Seisia was 360 nautical miles and mostly smooth as silk with pitch dark and moonless nights. Not very eventful apart from a visit by a curious dugong (sea cow). We have seen them only a couple of times before, and they are quite peculiar. Eventful or not, it is always nice to arrive. Last year a couple of boats had a terrible sail across this shallow gulf in storm conditions.
