We are out of the Humboldt current, but winds are still light. What happened to the trade winds? We have some wind, and sometimes enough to sail. Since we want to be at Easter Island by the end of the month, we do motor a little as well.
We have not seen any ships for more than 24 hours. That is expected. Not many ships go this way. Before that we did, however, see some Peruvian fishing boats and their long drift nets. We actually hit one net and had to cut ourselves loose. At night we passed another, but this time it didn't stick.
Everything is well on board. We are eating fairly well too, and have our line out to catch some fish. So far, no luck on that account.
