This is a big commercial harbour, and the best that can be said is that it is safe. We are in fact more or less tied up to the police dock. The main advantage of Bintulu is that it has easy access to some reportedly stunning national parks. That is exact where we plan to go.
The sailing in these parts have been somewhat disappointing with very little wind. Much more motoring than we like, but quite normal in the convergence zones around the equator. It will be better once we get further north.
Bjarte, Arne, Johan and Jan Fr. is still on board. Eva is scheduled to join again in the Philippines.
We will keep you posted as we go.
