Newburyport is a very nice little town, very typical New England. The houses were made of brick or wood, not to big, all very well kept. The town square was the meeting place where you could take your morning coffee out to the benches to read the papers or chat. Newbury port is in Massachusetts, but New Hampshire is less than 15 minutes away by car. Another 15 minutes and you are in Maine. We did indeed go by car up to another little town named Kennebunkport in Maine (the name is reward enough). This is where George W. spends his summer holidays. Quite a good choice if you ask me. It was a charming little place. It is also where we bought a couple of Maine lobsters. Sad to say for the lobsters, they are now history.
By now we are on our way to Halifax. That is a bit more than two days of sailing, and we may actually stop a little bit closer in Nova Scotia. That is Canada, so we have already checked out of the US. Again it was by telephone.
