We have now been in Cape Town for just over two weeks and have had a fantastic time!
All four of us took the cable car up Table Mountain and we walked right round the summit, about five miles of great walking and glorious views.  We have hashed twice, great fun, as always. The trip to the Cape of Good Hope was interesting, if only because even from the land it was shrouded in fog!
Also, by chance the Crankhandle club were running their annual Veteran car rally, so a splendid morning was had watching pre 1919 (South African definition) cars and motorbikes...while eating breakfast at a roadside cafe, perfect. We then met another ex Commodore of Island Barn, John Caig, and his wife for lunch at the False Bay YC.
Eating out in Cape Town is so cheap that it is hardly worth eating onboard! We have found some lovely restaurants, our favourite is Mozambik, at least partly due to the fabulous staff, great food and great fun.
The jobs list is getting shorter, for the first time in along time! We have replaced the compass light and the steaming/deck light. The last two original fitment lights.  The generator continues to cause problems, we have sent the high pressure pump and solenoid away to be checked... hopefully returning today. The radar, after a software upgrade and some little tweaks appears to be working fine. I have serviced the main engine, the generator and the windlass. Hopefully the sealing of the baby stay will prevent water dripping into the fore peak.
Our new crew Chris and Livia have arrived and seem great, we are happy and looking forward to heading off bound for Namibia later this week.
