We are now safely anchored off Pigeon Beach, Falmouth Harbour. We left Portsmouth and had a lovely sail up to the Isles des Saintes. We never caught Spirited Lady but at least they were ahead and warned us of increasing wind! Down came the mizzen staysail but unfortunately not the cruising chute.... That came down in 25 knots, not fun or easy on your own!
The following day we left before Spirited Lady but of course they caught and passed us but at least we got some nice photographs. Arriving in Deshaies, Guadeloupe for a days rest was nice as we have never been there before.
Then one last push up here, the wind was touching force 7 so we had an edge! We left first under full sail, Genoa, Main and Mizzen. Spirited Lady followed under double reefed Main.
They did catch us but only after about 35NM. we were in and anchored before they were settled and met them in Customs.
A really great few days sailing in company with such a beautiful boat. Sad when we arrived here as two of the crew Danielle and Ben and Maddie's boyfriend Simon were all flying home to England. We shall miss them we had a great time with them.....But no doubt our paths will cross again.
Now we are here, or there abouts for the next two months so more boat jobs...
Fair winds and following seas
