We were all set to leave, and I realised that the Hydrovane had seized. I considered heading off anyway as we do have the autohelm. However being moored stern too a concrete dock seemed a better option than waiting till we were at anchor and trying to fix it from the dinghy.
At one stage there were five of us working on it (well one working and four drinking beer and offering helpful advice!) A very nice community spirit of lending tools and help
Ten of us then went out for a pizza (it was half price!) We ended up in a bar in the marina drinking till 2am! I have to say I didn't feel 100 percent the next day.....
We did though manage to sail down to Falmouth having decided we didn't have time to go further North this year. We went to the Tot club last night which was great.
This morning we had a cup of tea and then swam to the beach and walked along the beach before swimming back. The water here is crystal clear it is very comforting to swim over the anchor and see it firmly bedded in!
Back on board for breakfast and to watch the turtle swimming round us. There is a reef just behind us that I fancy may be worth snorkeling over, may try that tomorrow
Due to have lunch with Nigel (the chap who ran the Antigua and Barbuda Paralympics team) which I am looking forward to....then this evening is back to the Tot Club...
I hope life is treating you well, and have fun
