Bad luck?

We are still in Galapagos, "00.44.89S 090.18.59W", back on the island of Santa Cruz waiting delivery of parts.
Friday marked three years since we left St Mary's Isles of Scilly.
Since that time we have sailed over 14000 miles, visited 15 countries, done 3 passages over 1000 NM spent over 700 nights at anchor and had the time of our lives.
But now here in one of the most amazing places in the world, has our luck run out, or are we doing something wrong?
If you have read previous blogs you may recall that we have had trouble with the generator. It was brand new 8 months ago and has had a number of electrical problems and then a cooling problem that melted the exhaust!
The main engine, three years old, 1500 hours running, overheated. The problem was tracked to a squid in the water inlet. But we don't know whether that caused a secondary problem or not but we burnt through another impeller before finding a fault with the water pump, now fixed.
To get us through we hired a large petrol generator. Which run fine for about twenty hours and then seized..... That will be fun to explain in Spanish!
So three engines in a month. All totally independent and unrelated....how do you explain that?
Add to the mix my digital SLR choose Galapagos to stop working.... The radar packed up on the way here and the Sat Phone still doesn't work...
However our enforced extended stay here has been magical! Hopefully the next blog will be telling of our departure
Still cheerful and in awe of our surroundings
