Well, what can I say.... back in the water Christmas Eve at 16:00, unfortunately the paint was scratched by the lifting strops as we were launched. Fortunately the same company painted and launched the boat, so no dispute regarding where responsibility lies. However we are back on the hard to have it fixed. Due to launch on the 6th, two days after we had intended to leave, lucky we have plenty of contingency. But it has put back all the jobs we need to do, once in the water to get going. We decided to go to the Emdoneni Cheetah Project for three days over New Year. What a fantastic place. The big cats that are in the project are mainly in because they were injured but are also involved in a breeding programme to help restock endangered species. We saw cheetah, serval, caraval, and wild cats, they are all so beautiful. It is a shame we have seen none in the wild, but that is life. We have seen a large number of other animals on our three game drives and two river trips. Gill loved the fact that we could just walk out of our chalet and be amongst zebra! Now heading back to the boat to get organised to leave as soon after we launch as possible. Kim and David arrive tomorrow afternoon I hope that 2020 will bring everyone happiness Love Alasdair and Gill.
