I have been very lazy to update the blog, and am now going to do a whole lot of entries in one go!

After the stresses of all the maintenance, upgrades, provisioning etc in Florida, we had a very calm crossing to the Bahamas. We did 85nm easily in daylight yours, arriving perfectly on the high tide for the skinny entrance into Lucaya.  We docked at the very quiet Grand Bahama Yacht Club and were checking in with Customs & Immigration quickly.

We had two more days here, waiting for weather to improve and got a few chores done. Although our bottom paint had been done three weeks earlier, the bottom was already carrying some slime from the intra-coastal waterway. Water was warm enough for me to jump in and clean the waterline. I also took a walk up to the local “mall” to get a local SIM card for our new booster antenna. We installed a WiriePro, which is a Wifi & Cellular Booster that creates a “hotspot” inside TIME2.  We can now connect our phones, ipad and computer all at the same time. Bahamas Telecom is remarkably efficient and fairly cheap – and we are happy to have this new system.  In parts of the Exuma National Park we will not have a connection, but that is also okay.

We took a quick dinghy ride over to the main marina/ tourist area of Lucaya, which we had last visited in 2010 with Willy and Frauke on Indigo. Wow! the place was trashed by hurricane Matthew in 2016 and only some areas have been repaired.
