Our freezer, food stores, fuel tanks and water tanks are
full and we are setting off for the Turks & Caicos islands in a few minutes.
Johnny (Mike's brother) is with us, which is great company and will also be a
help on the night watches. We should take 3 or 4 days to get to our first stop -
and we are not yet decided which town it will be. We are not in a rush and the
wind will dictate!
The few days we have had back in Puerto Rico have been
quite a rush, with the guys working flat out on installing a new deck wash
system and a new system for the down and outhaul on the mast. They have also
been doing bits and piece of other maintenance. Johnny has sadly seen very
little of Puerto Rico, other than the supermarkets and a few other big box
stores that are pretty impressive for a South African to see (Walmart, HomeDepot
and Best Buys).
For those of you that don't know Johnny - here is a pic of
him about to enjoy some delicious red snapper that we bought at the local fish
shop. I am sure this will be the last fish we buy for a while, as the waters
ahead promise to be great for fishing.
