Crossing the Tasman sea is regarded as a potentially treacherous passage, which is why we enlisted the services of a
professional weather router. But seems we found the perfect window for us!
We could not have wished for better conditions. We have had low winds and most of the swells have been very long, so very comfortable. Once around the
top of NZ, we are expecting to head into some wind for the last 70 miles south to Opua, but still nothing extreme.
It was so calm last night that we hauled out the Weber on to the back deck and had a braai/ BBQ - succulent Aussie lamb chops. Should have cleared customs and be on the marina by lunchtime on Wednesday.
