Back to the boat - 2013

We arrived back to Time2 on Tuesday after a rather long and uncomfortable trip.  Flying from Cape Town to San Diego took about 35 hours, via Johannesburg, Dakar and Washington DC. We then spent a night in a hotel before our driver Raphael picked us up for the 150km road trip down to Ensenada. Crossing the border into Mexico was painless ... drove straight through.

All was well on the boat and we have been sorting ourselves out - sometimes at 5am, as jet-lag is still with us!  Ten hours time difference plays all kinds of havoc with our internal clocks.  Its mid-winter here, but the sun is shining and other than it being cold at night, is very pleasant. Cruiseport marina is the same, with the friendly staff, many of the same live-aboards and the daily Cruise Ship traffic.  Mike and I have taken a few walks/ bike rides around town to get provisions, boat bits and to hunt down a Poncho for Mike's son-in-law Gareth .. and here it is!

We have scheduled Time2 for a haul-out next week at Baja Naval - a very professional looking yard - close to this marina.  The bottom paint will be re-done and all the other bits under the boat checked. While all that is being done, we will take off for a few days skiing at Mammoth, a ski area close to Yosemite National Park in California. We have had our ski-gear stashed away on the boat for over 3 years, and are now ready to go.
I had a request from some friends to do an overview living aboard Time2 - showing the interior - which will be my next post.   Love to all at home, we miss you already xx
