We arrived in Apia, Samoa on Friday morning - looking forward
to a peaceful stay on the marina. We thought long and hard about whether to
go to American Samoa or here (previously know as Western Samoa) we weighed
up all the pros and cons and although American Samoa offers cheap diesel and
good provisioning, the anchorage is a bad one in an industrial port. Apia
promised some civilization, and we were looking forward to being on a
marina, with a good internet connection and enjoying a few evenings
out.
But so far the place is a huge disappointment - from the
customs process, to the chaotic marina, to poor and expensive internet and
pretty grim provisioning. Perhaps we will feel better on Monday if we can
get our promised marina berth. |
