We arrived here this morning after a very rough 16
hour overnight trip. We had the wind, current, swell and rain against
us, making it a slow and uncomfortable crossing. Coenie and Mike did all
the watches as I was feeling a bit sea sick - so we all ended up sleeping most
of today.
Despite all this, it was worth it, as we are
now anchored in a beautiful bay on the north end of Tobago. We are anchored next
to a high cliff with a lush tropical rainforest that is home to lots
of birds. The small town here is called Charlotteville, where we checked in with
Customs and Immigration and checked out the local fishing. Mike bought us some
slipper lobster which look like a very fat, wide tailed, short legged
version of a crayfish. We look forward to eating them tonight.
