Lady Musgrave Island
We found a weather window and headed out to this “fair weather only” atoll,
must be one of very few atolls in Australia. Just like the Tuamotu’s of French
Polynesia, there is a coral reef surrounding a lagoon, with a very narrow break
in the reef to get inside. Fortunately it is all well marked and we got
inside and anchored with no problem. This morning we woke up to the beautiful
view of the white beach island and the glorious blue sea. Those muddy brown
waters we have been living in for the last two months can be quite grim.
While our phones don’t work out here, we are managing to pick up the faintest of
3G signal so have been able to send emails and texts. (The Telstra dongle
is balanced precariously outside on the flying bridge)
We hope to get into some fishing, snorkelling and walks on the beach
while we are here. And then we need to scrub the water-line, its looking a bit
green.
