Prickly Bay, Grenada

We left Trinidad on Wednesday morning, heading north - with the intention of continuing up to Union Island. The trip was going well, when Mike announced that he had a loose tooth - the same 'implant' that gave him trouble in Cape Town. A little later, I was dozing in the cockpit when I was awoken to a pair of pliers in my face, holding the offending tooth. He pulled it out! Gross - but Mike is much happier and so is his jaw, now that it is out.

The wind and waves were not in our favour and rather than do a lengthy tack, we decided to use the engines and head to Prickly Bay. We did the last 15nm without sails, and motoring  on both engines which allowed us to arrive before 10pm. Thank goodness for all that cheap fuel from Trinidad. Arriving in any port at night is a little daunting, and we had bit of a scare a few miles out, when a small freighter appeared out of nowhere right in front of us - the lights of Grenada had totally disguised this boat. It passed a few hundred meters in front of us.
As we know Prickly Bay quite well now, Mike was able to navigate easily through all the boats on anchor and find us a secure spot for the night.

We will be here for a few days and then continue our trip up north - aiming to be in Bequia before the 8th of December. We have a local telephone here for the next few months - the number is +1 473 414 8539. Feel free to call or text us on this number.
